Hub Proximity Incentive System (HPIS) (Future Introduction) #
Aircraft owners can designate a preferred HUB, a central airport used as a primary transit point to facilitate connections between various flights. This HUB acts as a critical node to optimize flight operations, offering direct links to both domestic and international destinations. The system allows owners to keep their aircraft in the vicinity, even if they are available for rental, by providing increased compensations to pilots who move planes closer to the HUB and a minor deduction for those who move them away. This economic dynamic incentivizes pilots to concentrate aircraft at the owner’s HUB, thereby increasing flight traffic. Owners can manage this feature for each aircraft individually through the HUB Toggle On/Off function.
Activation #
To activate a personal HUB, you must specify the ICAO code of the desired airport on the Personal Settings page.
Caution: Before setting your desired ICAO as your HUB, consider your choice carefully as relocating the HUB later entails a high PAX cost and requires that all your aircraft be at the airport designated as the new HUB.
Once a preferred HUB is indicated, it must be activated on the designated page (LINK) to take effect. Until the HUB is activated, you may modify it at no cost.
Activation requires that all owned aircraft be located at the specified airport (ICAO) and not engaged in flights. If one or more aircraft are at a different airport, they can be moved using the “Instant Relocation” function or by flying a “Unrestricted Flight” transfer mission.
Aircraft Management #
Once the HUB is activated, it is necessary to specify, for each owned aircraft, whether it should be included in the HPIS with the HUB Toggle ON/OFF selector. There are three levels of incentives/mitigation for pilots: Low, Medium, High. An aircraft can deactivate the HPIS function at any time, but to reactivate it, the aircraft must be at the owner’s HUB. An aircraft in flight cannot change its HPIS status.
Caution: Aircraft active in the HPIS incur higher “Instant Relocation” costs.
New Purchases #
Once the HUB is activated, any additional aircraft purchased will automatically and mandatorily be positioned at the HUB; the player cannot choose a different airport for future acquisitions.
Deactivation #
The HUB can be deactivated at any time without restrictions; however, reactivation will always be subject to the rules stated above. Deactivating a HUB automatically deactivates all proximity toggles for all owned aircraft (HUB Toggle).
